JSW Foundation has been presenting the Vidyasarathi Udaan initiative across locations. In the last financial year 2018-19, more than 10000 applications were screened and a total of 437 students received the scholarships worth INR 90.84 Lakhs.
Scholarship Program
JSW Foundation in association with NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd presented 59 Scholarships, including scholarships to 20 girls, to students in Nagpur under the Vidyasarathi Udaan program. The Vidyasarathi Udaan scholarship covers access to B.E/B. Tech, I.T.I, Diploma, B.Ed, B.Sc in Agriculture, B.C.A, B.F.A (Bachelor in Fine Arts), Master in Archaeology and B.Sc in Nursing.
The 59 students were picked post an intense screening process which saw over 1000 entries. The applications were screened on the parameters of domicile, family income, and percentage marks secured in the state examination. The evaluation process also gave preference to girls, orphaned children, children of single-parent homes and the physically challenged and picked post a personal interview and document verifications. Mr. Mukul Verma, Plant Head, JSW Steel Coated Products Kalmeshwar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mr. Sekar Bharadwaj, Head HR, Administration & CSR, and Mr Ashish Gupta, NSDL Project Incharge of Kalmeshwar Works also graced the felicitation event.
