Limestone

Limestone Products of Various Sizes and Quality Ranges are produced and supplied from Muddapur Limestone & Dolomite Mine, Karnataka.

Dolomite

Dolomite Products of Various Sizes and Quality Ranges are produced and supplied from Muddapur Limestone & Dolomite Mine from Karnataka, and also from Rangapuram & Kolumulapalli Dolomite Mine, Andhra Pradesh.

Operation

Barmer

We operate two fully mechanized Lignite Mines – Kapurdi Lignite Mine (lease execution: 21.12.2010) and Jalipa Lignite Mine(lease execution: 13.06.2013), with a combined production capacity of 6 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA). Lignite is transported seamlessly and sustainably to JSW Energy Barmer Limited via an eco-friendly Covered Cross Conveyor System and a Pipe Conveyor System, ensuring minimal environmental impact and maximum efficiency.

Our operations run round-the-clock, uninterrupted by weather or operational challenges, upholding our core philosophy – “Safety First, Production Must.”

We are proud to be recognized for achieving the highest output per man per shift in terms of material handling volume. Our commitment to fuel-efficient mining is demonstrated by our impressive benchmark of 0.5 litres per BCM.

To ensure reliability and performance, we have deployed our own fleet of advanced mining machinery, enabling us to maintain strict operational control and high productivity standards.

Vijaynagar

We have a strong operational presence across three strategic locations within the Vijayanagar region.

1. Vijaynagar Metal Recovery Plant

   A state-of-the-art crushing plant was commissioned in Vijayanagar as part of our commitment to green innovation and sustainable practices. This initiative, driven by the philosophy of “Wealth from Waste,” focuses on recovering valuable metals from industrial slag – turning by-products into resources.

   Environmental impact statistics – CO₂ saved, waste diverted, Work zone dust emissions <= 30 mg/m3.

   Key Technologies used:Conventional pit cooling followed by self-weathering at MRP (JSW Patented)

    

2. SWML Andhra Pradesh

   In Andhra Pradesh we are operating two Dolomite Mines namely Kollumulapalli (lease execution: 27.09.2013) and Rangapuram (lease execution: 21.03.2018) with 1MTPA capacity each.
   These mines have been strategically developed in response to the increasing requirement from M/s JSW Steel Ltd., Toranagallu, where dolomite is primarily used for fluxing agent in blast furnaces or converter steelmaking.

   Exporting to:  JSW Steel,Tornagallu, JVML,Tornagallu (JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Steel Plant), JSW,Salem through rail rakes.

    

3. SWML Bagalkot

   The Muddapur Limestone & Dolomite Mine (lease execution: 21.05.2009), operated by South West Mining Ltd. (SWML) in Bagalkot, Karnataka, is a key captive resource supporting the raw material needs of the steel manufacturing ecosystem. To supply high-quality Limestone and Dolomite to JSW Steel Ltd., (Location) , ensuring consistent availability of flux materials for blast furnace and steel refining operations.

   Exporting to:  JSW, JVML, BMM, JK Cement.
    

Fujairah

South West Mining LLC-SPC (lease execution: 20/10/2022) entered a landmark 20-year Concession Agreement with Fujairah Rock & Aggregate Company LLC. Objective is to become a key player in supplying high-quality Gabbro for regional infrastructure and construction sectors.

In the calendar year 2025, SWML achieved the highest export of Gabbro, after ranking second in exports for the previous two years. And looking forward we'll continue to be the 1st in the Gabbro Export.

Copper

South West Mining Limited (SWML) has been appointed as one of the Mine Developer and Operators (MDO) for the reopening of the Rakha Copper Mine and the development of the Chapri Underground Mine in Jharkhand, in partnership with Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL). As part of this strategic collaboration, SWML will also set up a state-of-the-art concentrator plant with a peak rated capacity of 3.0 MTPA, marking a significant step forward in India’s copper mining sector.

This project is set to become the first fully privately-operated copper mine in the country and one of the pioneering MDO initiatives in Indian copper mining.

Once operational, SWML is poised to contribute up to 70% of HCL’s copper production target in Jharkhand and approximately 25% of HCL’s total copper output globally, establishing itself as a key player in India’s non-ferrous mining landscape.

Utilization of Top soil for Plantation

Mining waste comes from extracting and processing mineral resources. It includes materials such as topsoil overburden (which are removed to gain access to mineral resources), and waste rock and tailings (after the extraction of the valuable mineral).
